About this role

The role of a Media Planner is to manage our media planning product through preparing and presenting media plans, proposals, and analysis. This position requires working as part of an integrated media planning team to ensure the product is grounded in insights and experience. The result is flawless media executions that satisfy client objectives.

Day-to-day involves preparing, writing, and presenting integrated media plans that go beyond the brief, while maintaining the media plan and evaluating campaign performance. Responsibilities include overseeing administration, sourcing proposals from media partners, and preparing media Point of Views. Client budgets are managed through accurate finance reports and budget control reports.

Media Experts works collaboratively with Canada’s most iconic brands like Bell Canada, Honda, and Netflix to forge deeper connections with consumers. As part of the IPG Mediabrands network with offices in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, the agency delivers integrated solutions rooted in innovative approaches and a culture of care. Strong client and partner relationships are essential.

Build and maintain relationships by demonstrating responsibility, reliability, and resourcefulness in this pioneering media agency established since 1981. Proactively develop knowledge of the media landscape and stay updated with major media partners. This role offers a driven desire to excel in a media career with continuous development.

Requirements

  • Professional or educational background in Marketing and/or Advertising
  • Entry – Associate level of experience with media planning
  • Experience within an integrated advertising agency an asset
  • Driven desire to develop and excel in a media career
  • Client service oriented with curiosity and passion for continuous development
  • Understanding of media research tools (e.g. Clear Decisions, Vividata, Neilson) and media tools (e.g. Prisma)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, write and present integrated media plans, proposals and analysis that satisfy client objectives and go beyond the brief
  • Maintain the media plan and regularly evaluate the campaign performance
  • Prepare and present evaluations of media opportunities, media trends and issues of interest to clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and respectful partner relationships
  • Initiate and coordinate the media buying process to deliver exceptional results
  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of the media plan
  • Prepare accurate and timely client finance reports and budget control reports (BCRs)
  • Source and evaluate proposals from media partners as required
