About this role

Capital One Brand Creative is looking for an experienced Associate Creative Director to bring our brand to life across different audiences, products, channels, and types of communication. We’re a Fortune 100 finance company with a personable, fun, and engaging brand that helps customers feel at ease on their financial journey.

In this role, you will partner with Creative Directors and Project Managers to define intent, brief teams, and deliver marketing that cuts through the noise. You will lead creative development across Performance Marketing channels, including social media, video, click-based outbound, and SEM, giving clear direction and effective feedback on concepts, design, copy, and motion.

You will be a creative leader among a team of Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters, including a mix of full-time associates, contractors, and agencies. Collaborating with marketing strategists and internal business clients, you will positively influence marketing strategy and the customer experience.

This role offers the chance to mentor and build expertise in your craft, whether copywriting or art direction, while working in an evidence-based, data-driven environment. Requirements

  • At least 3 years of multi-channel digital marketing experience on client-side or agency.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading creative teams or bodies of work across cross-functional creative teams.
  • At least 5 years of experience in copywriting or art direction.
  • Evidence-based marketer with endless curiosity and a willingness to adapt.
  • Storyteller who simplifies the complex and compels audiences to act.
  • Must provide a portfolio of creative work for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Creative Directors and Project Managers to define intent, brief teams, and deliver marketing that cuts through the noise.
  • Be a creative leader amongst your team of Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters.
  • Lead and execute creative development in support of Capital One’s credit card business across Performance Marketing channels including social media platforms, video, click-based outbound, and SEM.
  • Give clear direction and effective feedback around project intent, concepts, design, copy, and motion.
  • Collaborate with marketing strategists and internal business clients to positively influence marketing strategy and the customer experience.
  • Use evidence and data to ground your creative decisions.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of digital marketing channels, social media advertising, and marketing trends to translate business intent into creative strategies and executions.
  • Present and influence with a convincing and inspiring style to increase buy-in and open new opportunities for your team and department.
  • Mentor and build expertise in your craft, whether copywriting or art direction, with your peers and team members.
