About this role

AccuWeather is seeking a Creative Director to join its TV Broadcast and Visual Content team. This role is responsible for the overall creative vision, design strategy, and execution of visual content across AccuWeather's broadcast products and media platforms.

Day-to-day, the Creative Director leads the design and development of graphics packages, motion graphics, templates, augmented reality content, virtual set elements, and interactive experiences. They oversee creation of demonstration content for product launches, customer presentations, and industry events like NAB and IBC.

This leader manages a team of designers, motion graphic artists, animators, and creative contractors, establishing creative standards, workflows, and best practices. They collaborate closely with Product Management, Development, Sales, and Customer Success teams to align creative assets with product capabilities and customer needs.

The Creative Director also directs creative development of product marketing campaigns, promotional videos, and branded content across television, digital platforms, social media, and the AccuWeather Network. This role offers the opportunity to shape the visual identity of a leading weather media company and drive innovation in broadcast storytelling.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading creative vision and design strategy for broadcast or media products.
  • Expertise in motion graphics, animation, and visual storytelling for television and digital platforms.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative graphics packages, augmented reality content, and interactive experiences.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of designers, animators, and creative contractors.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Development, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
  • Deep understanding of branded content, product placement, and sponsorship integrations.
  • Knowledge of emerging creative technologies and trends in broadcast and visual media.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the creative vision for ImmersiCast, StoryTeller NewsPro, WeatherShow Creator, and future broadcast products.
  • Lead the design and development of graphics packages, motion graphics, templates, augmented reality content, virtual set elements, and interactive experiences.
  • Oversee creation of demonstration content used for product launches, customer presentations, NAB, IBC, and other industry events.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage designers, motion graphic artists, animators, and creative contractors.
  • Direct creative development of product marketing campaigns for broadcast solutions, including promotional videos, websites, social media, and sales collateral.
  • Lead creative execution of product placement advertising across television, digital, streaming, and network platforms.
  • Develop new visual concepts to improve viewer engagement and storytelling for the AccuWeather Network.
  • Identify emerging technologies and creative trends that can enhance broadcast products and visual content.
