The Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies, cold-calling new prospects and convincing potential clients of the merits of television advertising. The role focuses on implementing strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals. Success requires establishing credible relationships with the local business community.
Daily work involves making sales calls on existing and prospective clients while maintaining assigned accounts and developing new accounts. The executive prepares and delivers sales presentations that explain how specific types of advertising will promote products or services most effectively. Clients receive information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
Coordination with station personnel ensures advertising schedules are developed accurately and placed correctly across station media. The executive works directly with clients and station teams to develop advertisements that meet client objectives. This collaborative process supports both local business needs and station revenue targets.
Nexstar Media Group operates television stations and digital platforms that reach a large share of U.S. households. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Minimum one year’s experience in sales, preferably in the media field
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
