About this role

This role is responsible for the negotiation and placement of all media for existing clients, with a focus on video, FEP, and advanced TV. As a Media Buyer, you will manage accounts from the start of negotiations through final campaign wrap-up, ensuring all buys align with established budgets and timelines.

Day-to-day, you will negotiate and place commercials within the television and video marketplace, estimate and adjust program ratings, and document rates, special placements, and added value. You will also monitor buys in progress, arrange for makegoods and credits, and track media expenditures to ensure budget compliance.

You will collaborate closely with the planning group and clients to manage budgets, develop strategies, and execute customized enhancements. The team environment values creative problem-solving and a can-do attitude, with an emphasis on incorporating the latest media trends and innovations, including streaming and online video.

Requirements

  • Passionate about advertising and the ability to spread that passion to others.

  • Skilled communicator.
  • Strong mathematical ability required.
  • One year of agency experience required or 1-3 years of media buying/planning experience as a junior or assistant buyer at a media agency preferred.
  • Work experience in national/spot television/radio/digital preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and place commercials within the television and video marketplace for accounts within an assigned group of markets.
  • Estimate, update, and adjust all program ratings.
  • Negotiate and document rates, special placements, and added value.
  • Execute all media plans while adhering to established budgets and timelines.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate orders and changes to media vendors.
  • Monitor buys in progress, arrange for makegoods and credits, and manage post-buy results.
  • Track media expenditures in systems to ensure budget compliance.
  • Research and maintain records of trends, innovations, and changes that affect media buying.
